This Weeks Review….
This book has been a best seller and is considered theological fiction. It is up to the reader to determine what is truth and what is fiction in this book.

The Shack by William Young-revolves around Mack (Mackenzie) Philips. Four years before this story begins, Mack’s young daughter, Missy, was abducted during a family vacation. Though her body was never found, the police did find evidence in an abandoned shack to prove that she had been brutally murdered by a notorious serial killer who preyed on young girls. As the story begins, Mack, who has been living in the shadow of his Great Sadness, receives a strange note that is apparently from God. On an invite from God, Mack returns to the shack to confront the scene of the crime. He then has a weekend-long encounter with God. This is a book to be read carefully. It is not so much what the story is about, but about what it teaches. The reader should keep in mind that this is the author’s version of his “theology” on God and each reader should weigh the author’s views in this story against what he believes to be truth. For the author it is personal, a journey that “took him through his worst experiences, and led him to experience God.”
