LIFT
BY KELLY CORRIGAN

Kelly Corrigan, New York Times best-selling author of THE MIDDLE PLACE, has written her second book, LIFT, which started as a letter to her children.“For everyone who has been caught off guard by the pace and vulnerability of raising children…” This book is the book any mother could and may have written. Any mother who at the end of the day, when the kids are tucked into bed, looks back and says, “was I too harsh,” did I do the right thing,” “have I ruined them forever?” The responsibility a mother feels in raising her children is a unique and unknown journey. It begins the first moment they are held in your arms, and it never ends. These little beings have the ability to bring us the greatest of joy and the deepest of heartache. But that is something we would never trade for having them.

In LIFT, Kelly Corrigan speaks to her daughters, Georgia and Claire, about being their mom. Her hopes for them, her joys in them, and the lessons she hopes they will learn from life. She shares stories from her childhood and theirs and lessons learned from experiences, like having cancer and losing a nephew.

As you read this book, you will imagine the journal that you kept for your children, the things you would have done or said, the things you hoped they have learned and will take with them always.

This book reminds us that the pace of life while our children are young keeps us on a constant treadmill that one day slowly stops as we look around and see that our work was important, it was limited and now it’s done.

You or I could have written this book, but I encourage you to read LIFT, to help you appreciate the importance of being a Mom. I encourage you to watch her YouTube “Transcending” video. Website-www.kellycorrigan.com.
