Well, it has finally happened. While driving to work my wife pointed towards a gas station in which the sign read $4.03 for regular unleaded gas. Our wallet sure is feeling the pressure each time we fill up. Unfortunately, the pain isn’t limited to just the gas pumps. Even throughout the travel industry we are beginning to see fuel surcharges, rate increases, and even airlines beginning to charge for all checked luggage!
I don’t know about you, but when airlines begin to charge for checking 1 or 2 bags I begin to think of ways to either cram everything humanly possible into one bag, or pack lighter. After all, the little things can add up throughout your vacation.
A great tip in helping you utilize your suitcase space is to use oversized Ziploc freezer bags. It is really the same concept as the fancy vacuum bags only more economical, and common, who really has a vacuum in their hotel for that return trip home!
If you pack each individual outfit in its own bag, press the air out and seal it, you are eliminating wasted space and creating more room to cram things! Having each outfit bagged separately also helps reduce wrinkles and keeps your outfits organized and together. As for those musty clothes you’ve been sweating in all vacation, just seal them up for an odor free suitcase on the trip home!
It may only save you a few dollars, but hey, you will need it at the pump!
